Turn your photos into wall art in three easy steps

Do you have photos on your phone that you would love to turn into a canvas print so that you can hang it in a special place and see them every day? I will show you how to turn your photos into wall art in three easy steps.

I created this piece of abstract art on watercolor paper and I loved the colors and thought it would look great in our master bedroom.

The deep greens and teals would be perfect for the decor in our bedroom but as I said this artwork was on a small piece of watercolor paper and I needed a large canvas to go above our long mid-century modern dresser.

Around that same time, I was contacted by a company called Photowall. I was asked to try one of their products and to give an honest review of my experience. Honestly, I was worried that my photo quality wouldn’t be good enough for a large print because I took the photo with my iPhone XR but I thought I would give it a try.

Here are the quick and easy steps…

  1. Upload your photo
  2. Choose the size of your print. It will let you know if the image resolution is too low for the size of canvas that you want.
I was really surprised that a photo from my iPhone had such great image quality that it allowed me to print onto a large 39.37 X 59.06 canvas print.

I must admit that I was a little nervous that my print would not be as vibrant or that the image would be pixilated when I received it. So I ordered and crossed my fingers…

Just a couple of days later my order arrived and I was happy to see that my print was vibrant and looked pretty much exactly like my little 5×7 original but on a really huge canvas. YAY!!! Can you believe this was made from an iPhone photo???

The canvas comes unmounted and they have this cool framing kit that you put together yourself.

I found the frame really easy to assemble and quite an ingenious design. It includes all of the tools and everything you need. I was impressed. They even have a great step by step tutorial about how to put it together. Here’s what was in my package. Here is a link to that video Canvas set up video Photowall

The only downside to printing your original art onto canvas is that you lose all of the texture that layering creates but the fact that I now have a huge canvas print of my artwork to look at when I wake up every morning is a huge plus and totally worth the loss of the texture.
